A Creative Initiative to Photograph Diversity in Toronto

Posted by Fabiola Arevalo - Bellissimo Law Group PC

A new project has been funded by people on Canadian crowdsourcing site, Indiegogo. The project? Cosmopolis Toronto. A man by the name of Colin Boyd Shafer is planning to photograph portraits of people from 190 countries who now reside in Toronto to showcase the city’s diversity.

His goal is to photograph two to three people a day at places in Toronto that hold special meaning to them with a belonging that reminds them of where they’ve come from. This undertaking is no easy task. He’s still looking for volunteers to photograph but his project is gaining a lot of interest. Raising over his set goal of $6,000, take a look at the full description of his project here.

Cosmopolis Toronto will be displayed at the Toronto Centre for the Arts in North York starting January.

Let us know your thoughts on the project and remember to spread the word.
