Victoria Day Long Weekend!

With the long weekend upon us, everyone is looking for something fun and exciting to do. While some will be heading to cottage country with family and friends, others will be having backyard BBQs. For those who will be staying in the city here is a list of but not limited to some amazing events happening in the GTA this weekend.

Over the past two years we have seen a tremendous amount of Marvel superheroes make it to the big screen. If you are a comic fan this is for you:

Superfan ComicCon– May 17 to May 19 Better Living Centre

Spiderman! The Hulk! Captain America! you can see them all at the Superfan ComicCon. Everything from comic retailers to anime vendors, local and international artists, memorabilia, toys, collectibles, crafts, movies, apparel, video games, kids toys, and so much more! This friends and family event will feature a huge Cosplay gathering with hundreds of true fans dressed as their favourite characters. Click here for more info.

If you are not a fan of superheroes then a trip to the circus might be just what you need:

Toronto International Circus Festival- May 17 – May 19 Harbourfront Centre

This Victoria Day weekend, discover acrobats and jugglers, comedians and clowns. Take a turn at tumbling and tour the site aboard the HarbourKIDS Express at the Toronto International Circus Festival, fun for the entire family. Click here for info.

Torontonians are known to be super fans when it comes to our Sports teams, and if you live for the score enjoy a day at the:

2014 Canadian Sport Film Festival- May 16 – May 18 TIFF Bell LightBox

This festival brings together the theatre of sport and the medium of film to tell unique, and  stories from around the world. CSFF filmgoers are exposed to the stories beyond the scoreboard, behind the camera and told with a critical lens. Click here for more info.

Ripleys Aquarium, the Toronto Zoo, and The ROM will also be opened this weekend.

TTC and Go transit are running on holiday schedule, and most malls across the Greater Toronto Area will be closed on Monday except for The Eaton Centre, Vaughan Mills and The Pacific Mall.
