What is a Detention Review

Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) will detain a foreign national or permanent resident on grounds of:

improbability of their appearing for their hearing or removal,
being a danger to the public or having violated human or international rights, or
not having established their identity.

A detention review hearing determines whether or not the detainee should remain in detention, be released or be removed from the country.
