The Midway Mark: Express Entry Statistics Revealed
At the mid-way mark in the Express Entry (“EE”) year, Citizenship and Immigration (“CIC”) has revealed much coveted data related to the EE system. The numerical data below is taken from CIC’s EE mid-year report and is based on extract as of July 6, 2015.
As of July 6, 2015, a total of 112,701 foreign nationals submitted EE profiles online. The breakdown of how many of these profiles were found eligible (active), are pending, were withdrawn or provided Invitation to Apply (“ITA”) is listed below:
Express Entry Pool
According to CIC, the pool is growing by about 1,500 persons per week. As of July 6, 2015, the CRS scores of the 41,218 eligible foreign nationals in the pool were distributed as per the table below. Over 87% of the candidates in the EE pool range in Comprehensive Ranking System Scores between 300 to 449.
CIC has planned for small and regular invitation rounds in the first few months to allow for adjustments to the system. 12,928 ITAs have been issued to date. According to the department, future rounds from the Express Entry pool will become the main source of applications to meet annual immigration level targets for certain economic immigration programs under the EE system.
Invitations issued by the economic immigration program as of July 6, 2015 are listed below. 85.5% of the ITAs issued have been to candidates residing in Canada.
Applications for Permanent Residence through EE
CIC received 7,528 applications for permanent residence from candidates who were issued ITAs for permanent residence. The majority of the applications are still in progress; however 655 have been approved to date.
