The Beatles Driven Rolls Royce Back on Display at the Royal BC Museum!
For all you Beatles fans out there, the psychedelic Rolls Royce that once belonged to the iconic John Lennon is back on display at the Royal BC Museum in Canada! The Rolls Royce Phantom V Limousine was the original car that the Beatles rode to Buckingham Palace in 1965 to receive medals from the Queen. At the time, the Rolls Royce was a “Valentine Black”. However, by 1967, the car was converted into a jazzier ride, as it appears today!
Inspired by an old gypsy caravan that Lennon had in his garden, the luxury car is painted in bright yellow with flowers on the doors and scroll work along the top and sides. The luxury car was donated to the museum in 1987 by a Canadian man named Jim Pattison after its display at Expo ’86 in Vancouver.
Without a doubt, this car has become an iconic item for both the province and the Beatles! If you are planning a trip to British Columbia, Victoria any time soon, this treasured piece of Beatles memorabilia will be on display until April 28th, 2016!
