Canada Day Citizenship Ceremonies
On July 1, 2011, citizenship ceremonies took place all over the country to celebrate Canada’s 144th birthday. Approximately 2,000 people took the oath across the country in a total of 44 citizenship ceremonies; over 980 new Canadians took the oath in Ontario and British Columbia alone. 25 new Canadian citizens in Quebec had the combined honor of taking their oaths on Canada Day in front of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Citizenship ceremonies take place throughout the year marking the formal entry of newcomers into the Canadian family and the beginning of promising futures in their new home.
