Pre-arrival Services for Provincial Nominees to be Piloted in Manitoba

Manitoba has always been a leader in attracting and integrating provincial nominees. Now the province is partnering with the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) through the Canadian Immigrant Integration Program (CIIP) to pilot a new initiative providing support for provincial nominees destined for Manitoba.

To begin with, the initiative will provide a pre-arrival settlement orientation and labour-market preparation services to Manitoba nominees in China and the Philippines. It will then be adapted for nominees headed to other provincial jurisdictions as well as for Manitoba nominees in other parts of the world. “The services will include the development of a career plan based on Manitoba-specific labour-market information and guidance on qualifications recognition procedures.”

This initiative is set to begin in November. In the year to come, CIIP services for the provincial nominees will be available at all CIIP locations.
