January 31, 2016 marked the one-year anniversary since the first Express Entry draw. How do the numbers break down? Read selected statistics and highlights below in this first post in a series.

There have been 26 draws since January 31, 2015. After an erratic start, the number of points required per draw has remained relatively stable. As well, the lowest required amount of points was 450 and highest was 489. Since March 2015, invitations per draw have remained relatively stable, mostly hovering between 1400 and 1600.

A total of 35,512 invitations have been issued to date. The longest gap between draws was 35 days; the average between draws was 14 days.

As noted in a previous blog post, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued a mid-year report after 11 draws on July 31, 2015 that had a detailed breakdown of invitations by program. The chart below details the proportion of invitations provided to candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FST), Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSW), and Provincial Nomination Class (PN).

Adding the numbers up, the following represents the running totals for invitations issued per program.

Finally, detailed statistics regarding draws 12-26 have not yet been released. However, combining data from all of the ministerial instructions with the information above, we get an overall picture of Express Entry so far.

As more and more provincial programs are implemented under the Express Entry system, we expect that the share of PN invitations will increase. Candidates eligible under the CEC and FSW programs will likely continue to receive the largest proportion of invitations.

We hope and expect Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will release a yearly report in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for further updates and statistics.
