Who is cute, cuddly, and 100% Canadian? Well, the Toronto Zoo’s panda cubs certainly are, and now they finally have names!

Yesterday, the first-ever giant pandas to be born in the country had their names revealed during a ceremony attended not only by the media, but also government officials such as Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and Chinese Ambassador to Canada Luo Zhaohui. So, after 5 months of waiting, you may be impatiently wondering what the cubs are called. Drum roll please! Their names are Jia PanPan and Jia YueYue, which translate to Canadian Hope and Canadian Joy, respectively.

With this milestone crossed off the list, all that’s left is to count down the days until the public can visit them. For now, you can take part in the Giant Panda Experience at the Toronto Zoo, and say hello to their mom (Er Shun) and Da Mao.

In 2015, the Toronto Zoo welcomed many new animal babies –including panda and polar bear cubs! The latest additions are all doing great, especially the unnamed polar bear. Born on November 11 and now nearly two months old, she is on her way to becoming a star in the city (and surely around the world).

The zoo recently released a video of the cub feeding, and showing signs that all is well! According to her keepers, she has quite the appetite and eats six times a day.

To keep track of her progress, you can click here. Even better, why not pay her a visit once she becomes old enough and viewable to the public? Make sure you keep an eye on the Toronto Zoo website for all of the latest details.

The post Checking in on Toronto’s Polar Bear Cub! first appeared on Bellissimo Law Group.

When you think of a typical Canadian bear, grizzlies or polar bears may come to mind. After all, our wonderful North is known to be home to the fluffy, white-furred fellows –just take a look around when you’re in Churchill, Manitoba. However, pandas are now stealing the show!

On October 13th, Er Shun (Toronto Zoo’s beloved panda on loan from China) gave birth to two cubs –the first to be born in Canada! The pair are said to be doing fine, growing more and more each day. Of course, they’re getting a little help from experts, including zoo staff and incubators from Toronto Sick Kids Hospital.Though the two are not named yet and don’t have their characteristic black and white fur, these are sure to pop up in time. Stay tuned to media outlets for the big announcements!

The post Pandas Born at Toronto Zoo: A First in Canadian History! first appeared on Bellissimo Law Group.
