Our clients sponsored their family members over 8 years ago. The application was in limbo for a number of years and then delayed further when one of the Applicants was found to likely be medically inadmissible because of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The Applicant was determined to ultimately cause an excessive demand on the medical services in Canada. Following close examination of the Applicant’s particular circumstances of CKD, and working with medical specialists, we were able to secure appropriate medical evidence and advocate on the family’s behalf to demonstrate to the Medical and Visa Officer that the Applicant would not cause an excessive demand on medical services in Canada. The family’s application has been approved and they have all been reunited in Canada.

The post This Week’s Success Story: Family Reunited In Canada Despite Medical Inadmissibility Finding first appeared on Bellissimo Law Group.

After being refused three times for previous Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) application, we were successful in securing a LMIA for an employer in need of a caregiver for his two young children. A comprehensive submission letter was submitted with extensive documentation to alleviate the concerns outlined by the visa officers in his three previous refusal letters. Furthermore, we worked with the employer to provide new advertisements adhering to the recruitment requirements. We are pleased that we were able to quickly facilitate the employer’s ability to hire a temporary foreign worker as a caregiver for his children in Canada.

The post This Week’s Success Story: Employer Receives LMIA After Three Refusals! first appeared on Bellissimo Law Group.

Nearly 1 million visitor visas have been issued in 2012, marking it a record number of approvals for Canada! The positive numbers are cited as a stream less effort to keep up with Canada’s growing economy and making it a top tourist destination for individuals from around the world.

“Welcoming more international travelers to Canada creates jobs and growth in our country,” – Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism Maxime Bernier commented on the increased number of approved Visas. The increase in visas has been up 40% since 2004, meaning Canada’s popularity continues to grow as a centre for tourism and reconnecting individuals and families from around the world.

Applicants who are required to provide digital fingerprints and digital in-person photos will not be able to do it in advance of the visa application. Just like with medicals, the applicant must be prompted or do the biometrics when making the application at a Visa Application Centre.

It is not possible to get biometrics tests in Canada, applicants need to have them done abroad.

A citizen of a biometrics requiring country who is living in a third country might not be able to find a VAC to get their screening, therefore all visa offices will be equipped with “emergency biometrics facilities”

Biometrics will be required for new entry visas but not for extensions.
