Iris Liu, J.D.

Immigration Lawyer

Iris graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law JD program in 2022. During law school, Iris worked and volunteered in the community legal clinic system on the immigration team at Flemingdon Community Legal Services and Don Valley Community Legal Services.  She also served as a student caseworker at Downtown Legal Services for three semesters. Iris’s clinic experience exposed her to a wide variety of immigration issues and file types including judicial reviews, permanent residence and sponsorship applications, and refugee claims.  Before law school, Iris interned in the resettlement department at Journey’s End Refugee Services in Buffalo, New York.  She gained first-hand experience assisting newly arrived refugees with the challenges of settling into life in a new country after fleeing war and persecution.

Prior to joining Bellissimo Law Group PC, Iris articled at a criminal defence firm where she gained litigation experience in the Ontario Court of Justice, Superior Court, and Court of Appeals.  Iris is particularly interested in issues of misrepresentation, inadmissibility, and the intersection of criminal law and immigration law.
