Australia Changes to 457 Visas

Australia is moving to a more restrictive foreign worker program and the United States is anticipated to do the same.  This is one time in which Australia seems to be following Canada’s lead, well, at least when the program was under the carriage of the former Conservative Government.  Under our current government, although the Canadian program remains one of last resort, it has lifted some of the restrictions (four year cap as one example), but will Canada go down under again and follow suit?  The answer is yes. In our next blog, we will discuss some of the planned new measures to ensure the program is a measure of last resort.
