All Good Things Come To An End: Athletes Return Home After Big Rio Wins!
Canada has certainly made us very proud at this summer’s Rio Olympic Games. It is now time for our athletes to head home after a triumphant sixteen days in Rio. Swim star Penny Oleksiak stepped through the arrivals area at Toronto Pearson International Airport early this morning after an impressive 4-medal performance in Rio de Janeiro. The hard work and dedication of our amazing athletes is what made the total 22-medal win possible for Canada.
-4 Gold Medals
-3 Silver Medals
-15 Bronze Medals
All of our athletes have had a tremendous amount of support from individuals all across the country. CBC news website stated “Canada finished the games with four more medals than they won in London four years ago” (CBC). Great job Canada! A win for one is a win for all!
Our athletes will continue to have our support and we hope to see everyone again at the next Olympic Games! Be sure to follow the Winter Olympic Games in 2018 where we will be able to see our athletes perform in South Korea, Pyeongchang.
Thank you to all of your athletes and welcome home!
