Francophone Immigration Week
From November 3-9, For the first time, The Government of Canada and the Fédération des communautés francophones et acadienne du Canada (FCFA) are celebrating National Francophone Immigration week, which is from November 3-9.
Francophone Immigration Week is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the role that Francophone immigrants play in contributing to the prosperity of the French speaking communities in our country.
There has been a consistent annual increase in the number of Francophone minority immigrants since 2006. Last year Canada welcomed 3,685, an increase of 4% from the previous year.
Canada’s Citizenship and Immigration Minister Chris Alexander stated that Canada will continue to attract the best and brightest Francophone immigrants to make sure Francophone communities flourish across Canada.
