Self-Employed Class
The Self-Employed Class is designed for those who want to immigrate to Canada as a self-employed person. Applicants in this category must demonstrate relevant experience in cultural activities or athletics. Relevant experience is:
- At least two years of experience during the period starting 5 years before the day of the application and ending on the day a decision is made;
- Self-employment in cultural activities or athletics; or
- Participation, at the world-class level, in cultural activities or athletics.
To qualify as a self-employed immigrant, you must get a minimum of 35 points out of 100 under the selection criteria, which include your experience, age, education, language abilities, and adaptability.
